V70 2002 cd player error

Hi I bought an approved V70 02 d5 se 9 months ago and the CD PLAYER has gone into an error state, I had hoped that it would be covered by the approved used car warranty but what do you know it aint Anyway can anyone advise how to remove the unit, my dash has the GSM phone built in and i dont see an easy way to start the process, also can anyone recommend a repairer, i have used Car Stereos of Wales who are in Swansea when i had problems with my old 850 readio unit I could do without paying dealer prices on this thanks in advance Flappa

Are you getting 'CD Error' when you try to eject. If it's that then try pressing eject and gently inseerting another cd into the slot - seems to coax out the one that's in there - always works on mine.

thanks, i have now managed to dismantle the dash centre console and got the player out,,my wife has now confessed to loading an extra disc,,,,leona lewis has alot to answer for,,,, i can see the disc but i cant see a way of extracting it,,, its floating beneath the 4 carriers,,,at least the uniti is out and i have an option of taking it somewhere anyone recommend a repairer or instructions on the breakdown of the head unit so i can dismantle i'm almost there.......

What is the model number on the head unit? have you tried to remove the disc using long nosed pliers? Grip gently and try pulling gently - it may come out.
